Stabbing victim 'stable'

A man stabbed in the back and stomach was last night recovering in hospital.The 28-year-old received emergency treatment on Wednesday after being attacked at a house in Devon Spring Road, Devonshire. Police were called to the property at 4 p.m. following reports of an assault and discovered the man lying wounded on the ground. He was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital by ambulance. A hospital spokeswoman said last night: "His condition is now stable and he is on the general ward."A Police spokesman said: "We have arrested one person in connection with this assault." Detectives are urging witnesses to contact the Hamilton Criminal Investigation Unit on 295 0011 or the Crime Stoppers Hotline on 1-800-623-8477.
