Teen moved from ICU after brutal attack
A 14-year-old boy is still in the hospital after he was savagely beaten and repeatedly kicked in the face at the old Berkeley campus on Monday afternoon.
A well placed source said: "This is the most aggressive attack we have seen on a student by students. It is one of the most brutal attacks we have seen in recent years."
Police were called to the former Berkeley Institute campus on Berkeley Road in Pembroke at 3.30 p.m. on Monday where they found the young man unconscious. Police believe that a group of six young men repeatedly punched and kicked the 14-year-old in his face and about the body before running off.
He was rushed to the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital and kept in the Intensive Care Unit overnight. The young man has serious facial injuries and as of press time was in stable condition in another ward.
Two young man have been arrested in connection with the attack and Police are appealing for witnesses to contact them on 295-0011.
