Work has begun on the new Safety and Emissions Testing Station in North Street, Transport Control Department (TCD) announced yesterday.

Traffic and parking restrictions will be in place while construction takes place at the property. These include:

¿ TCD has a new entrance for all traffic, via the North Street/Dutton Avenue junction.

¿ The old entrance, near Till's Hill, is now for exiting vehicles only

¿ Parking by unauthorised vehicles in the TCD yard is prohibited and any vehicle caught will be clamped.

TCD says ongoing construction is not expected to disrupt normal day to day operations and apologises to any inconvenience caused by the restrictions.
