The Island’s new ferry, Warbaby Fox (above_, suffered minor damage on Wednesday after rough seas caused the vessel to smash into the dock in St. George’s.

The incident happened as Warbaby Fox <$>was trying to berth at Ordnance Island.

The ferry had been used to take stranded passengers of the Norwegian Majesty ship back to St. George’s, and while berthing in inclement weather the secure rope broke and the vessel smashed into the dock.

Warbaby suffered a small ten by six inch hole, five feet above the water line.

Marine and Ports officials have confirmed that the Warbaby Fox <$>will have to undergo repairs, but officials said the ferry would be fit to start the East End ferry service as planned next Tuesday. There were no injuries to any of the passengers as a result of the incident.
