The Bermuda Weather Service said the Island would experience cloud cover and swells as the storm approached, but would enjoy mainly fine weather this weekend. Winds on Sunday, however, are expected to measure between 15 and 20 knots.

As of 6 p.m. last night, the hurricane was located 421 nautical miles east-southeast of Bermuda and was travelling to the northwest at 18 knots.

Forecasters expect the hurricane to take a more northerly track as it approaches the island, setting its closest point of approach at 303 nautical miles to the east at 8 a.m. this morning.

The storm is packing winds of 65 knots, with gusts of up to 80 knots. Today, seas inside the reef are expected to swell between two and three feet, and four to six feet outside the reef. Winds between 12 and 18 knots are expected, but these should weaken between 10 and 14 knots. Tropical depression four, currently located of the southeastern coast of the United States, is expected to pass within 222 nautical miles to the northwest at 7 a.m. on Sunday morning. TD4 is currently 735 nautical miles west southwest of Bermuda, moving east at 5 knots. The system has winds of 30 knots, with gusts up to 40 knots.
