Bank sues hotel chiefs
The writ filed yesterday with Bermuda's Supreme Court on behalf of Barclays cites a wide group of leading Bermuda businessmen.
Among the 16 owners cited is Speaker of the House of Assembly the Hon. Ernest DeCouto.
Mr. George Robinson, the Hon. Ralph Marshall, Mr. Ralph Terceira Sr., Mr.
Ralph Terceira Jr., Mr. Morris White, Mr. Dennis Fagundo, Dr. James King, Mr.
John Pereira, Mr. Charles Vaucrosson, Mr. Fernance Perry and Mr. Henry Dowling were also cited as respondents.
MEF Enterprises Ltd., Gilt Holdings Ltd., Argus Management Services Ltd. and Raphael Ltd. are companies cited in the writ.
Mr. John Sainsbury, representing Argus Management, said the writ is related to legal costs Barclays is attempting to recoup from the 16 shareholders of Grotto Bay Beach Hotel. No amount was given.
