The 45-year-old woman was attacked after she became involved in a argument with a male customer over an unpaid bar tab in the early hours of Saturday morning.

She was stabbed in the side and needed seven stitches in the wound, but was not detained at the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.

A Police spokesman said yesterday a 30-year-old Hamilton Parish man had been arrested at a house in Angle Street, Pembroke, in connection with the incident later on Saturday morning.

He added that inquiries into the attack were continuing.
