him escaping through a window of the Silver Spoon Restaurant on Victoria Street, Pembroke.

Police were responding to an alarm at the premises when they found signs indicating that someone had forcibly gained entry. They then spotted a suspect climb from a window and flee the area on foot.

Police gave chase and were able to arrest the suspect on Cedar Avenue. He was arrested on suspicion of shopbreaking and taken to the Hamilton Police Station, where he co-operated in the Police inquiry.

A Mission Lane, Pembroke home was also entered by force on Wednesday during the afternoon. Several items of jewellery and a wallet containing a credit card and miscellaneous papers were removed.
