Mr. Simmons attended Ridley College in Canada and was described as "a keen soccer and basketball player''.
In 1980, he went to the University of Western Ontario to study for his Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry.
In 1986, he attended Buckingham University where he achieved a Bachelor of Law Degree.
He then went on to King's College at London University to study corporate and financial law for a short period.
In July, 1991, Mr. Simmons was called to the Bar in Britain, after which he returned to Bermuda for six months' tutelage at the Hallett, Whitney and Patton law firm.
Mr. Simmons thanked his parents, whose vision and sacrifice he said were his greatest support. He also thanked Hallett, Whitney and Patton who had sponsored him.
The new barrister was given the traditional wig, and then heard himself pronounced a member of the Bermuda Bar.
Puisne Judge the Hon. Mr. Justice Ward welcomed Mr. Simmons, but warned he would have to "labour to attain heights that are worth striving for''.
NEW ADDITION -- Bermudian Mr. Myron Simmons became the latest member of the Bermuda Bar last week.
