This was just one of a slew of break-ins and thefts which kept Police busy over the weekend.

Police spokesperson Evelyn James Barnett said The Somers Playhouse was broken into sometime between Thursday night and Friday morning.

A quantity of cash, candy and the theatre tickets were stolen.

Mrs. James Barnett said the 28-year-old man was helping Police with the investigation.

In a separate incident, two returning vacationers came home to find their electronic equipment stolen.

The Wellington Slip Road residence was broken into sometime between January 16 and 22.

The culprit made off with two 27 inch televisions and two VCRs.

Police said an East End Middle School and a Pembroke private school also fell prey to thieves this weekend.

The deputy principal at the Clearwater Middle School reported the theft of a CD player from one of the classrooms Thursday evening.

And the Saltus Grammar School gym office was broken into sometime overnight on Friday.

A quantity of coins was discovered missing Saturday afternoon.

Mrs. James Barnett said a quantity of cash, cigarettes and two bottles of liquor was stolen from the Queens Club on Cedar Avenue in Hamilton.

The cleaning staff reported the theft sometime early Saturday morning.

And a 43-year-old Pembroke man was arrested after he was seen breaking into cars parked in the Addiction Services parking lot Saturday night.
