work-to-rule, according to BIU construction division president Mr. Kenyetta Young.
"Negotiations are in a very critical stage,'' Mr. Young said. "The work-to-rule and the overtime ban are still in effect, but negotiations are going on.'' The contract expired on March 1 and unionised workers, saying they were dissatisfied with the progress of talks, immediately began a work-to-rule. The action affected both the Elbow Beach Hotel renovations and the construction of the new prison in Dockyard.
The contract talks involve six companies: Burland Conyers and Marirea, Sea-Land, Universal Electric, Salisbury Construction, Camera Carpentry and Atlantic Engineering.
