yesterday. The couple, who were riding west along South Road at around 1.15 a.m., was forced to the side of the road by two men who rode past them on another cycle.

The robbers forced them onto the ground near Southampton Rangers sports club.

One, brandishing a knife, demanded their wallet and purse. The visitors handed over about $400 in cash and travellers' cheques, and the robbers rode off in the direction of Horseshoe Road.

Two local men were later arrested and put in custody, where they were being questioned by detectives. Det. Insp. Carlton Adams asked anyone with information on the crime to call 299-4327.
