The 29-year-old female complainant in the case has alleged that the two male defendants seriously sexually assaulted her at the equestrian centre on Vesey Street in Devonshire on December 11, 1994.

The court has heard the woman had a few drinks while visiting several Hamilton night spots and then went to the Elbow Beach Staff Club.

When she went to leave at around 4 a.m., she could not find a taxi and got on the back of one defendant's motorcycle.

Despite his sexual advances the woman continued to travel with the two men who took her along quiet back roads because she had no helmet.

She said she later fell off the bike when it stopped abruptly in an unfamiliar area and admitted walking up a dark path with the two men to an exposed area.

She told the court she felt comfortable with the two men for part of the night and even sat on a box in a paddock on Vesey Street.

There the thinner of the two men removed her jeans and allegedly raped her, she said, while the bigger man held his hand over her mouth.

This point has come under considerable attack by the two defence lawyers, Archie Warner and Mark Pettingill, as the woman reportedly told the first person she saw that the bigger man raped her while the thinner man held her.

However she denies ever consenting to sex with either of the accused men in exchange for a ride home.

The case continues before Pusine Judge Mr. Justice Meerabux. Lawyers Charlene Scott and Nita Grewal appear for the Crown.
