"I am concerned based on reports from other countries, that if too many motorists all try to top off their tanks on New Year's Eve, we will experience unnecessary disruptions at service stations,'' he said.

Mr. Edelson also noted that supplies of fuel on the Island were sufficient.

"The storage tanks at our Ferry Reach facility were recently filled this month and we have made preparations to fill all of the service station tanks at our service stations on Friday, December 31 as we usually do every weekend.'' Shell Bermuda Limited revealed that it also was well equipped for the weekend and noted that it too will be "filling to the brim'' all its service stations.
