$250 fine this week in Magistrates' Court.

Magistrate Edward King fined Noel Eugene Trott after he admitted possessing cannabis at 1.55 a.m. on March 10.

Junior Crown counsel Veronica Gordon told Mr. King that Police followed Trott who was driving at high speed east on Palmetto Road.

Trott, 26, of 11 Twin Lane, was stopped near the Tynes Bay Incinerator, and an identification check revealed a warrant had been issued for his arrest.

When Trott was searched prior to his being taken into custody, officers found a brown manila envelope containing a plant-like substance.

When asked what the contents were, Trott said: "Weed.'' The contents were subsequently analysed and found to be .63 grams of cannabis.
