The first call came in at 4.26 a.m. about a brush fire on Middle Road, Devonshire, near Tee Street.

Fire spokesman Lt. Jon Thompson said one truck and five firefighters found a palm tree burning and quickly extinguished the fire.

Around 6 a.m. a structural fire was reported at the old SK Grocery Store in Bailey's Bay. Four trucks and 13 firefighters went to the scene and found a a burning trash can in the parking lot.
