beginning on January 21.

Minister of Labour and Home Affairs the Hon. John Irving Pearman said that the registration hoped to achieve an accurate count of those persons who are unemployed.

The survey also aims to accurately determine the number of persons who are genuinely seeking employment and have not registered with the Government Employment office in the last three months.

"Persons who register will be asked to indicate whether they are prepared to work in areas other than their specialities, as we have experienced incidences where people have refused jobs offered or have failed to appear for interviews because this was not in their area of choice,'' said the Minister.

As during the last registration, the employment office will be assisted by personnel from the Ministry of Health and Social Services and members of the Chamber of Commerce.

"We take this opportunity to thank them for their continued assistance,'' said Mr. Pearman.

The registration, to be held again on January 22, will operate between 10 a.m.

and 2 p.m. for each of the days in various post offices.

Venues for the event include post offices in St. David's, Warwick, Crawl Hill, Flatts and the main office in Hamilton on January 21.

Participating on January 22 will be Paget, Warwick, Southampton, Somerset Bridge and Somerset.
