The Segregated Accounts Companies Acts will facilitate the use of different accounts by insurance companies to prevent contamination of assets, according to Opposition whip Cole Simons.

The Rent Increases (Domestic Premises) Control Amendment Act, which seeks to place more low-end housing under rent control, is expected to be more controversial. The bill passed last year, but was not approved in the Senate.

If the bill is approved this year by the House, it will bypass the Senate altogether.
