They have received 1,200 brooms from wholesalers Butterfield Vallis.

The neat idea follows the merger of Butterfield and Vallis to form the business.

Said company executive Mr. Jim Butterfield: "We had to consolidate some of our stocks and as a result we found we were over-stocked in brooms.'' He added: "We're really glad to help KBB however we can.'' A broom storage headache was removed by John Barritt & Son, who offered their Devonshire plant.

And when it came to unloading, 12 students from Whitney Institute came to the rescue.

The youngsters, many Rock Watchers or on the KBB Youth Wing, made light work of the task.

Now delighted KBB members are in line for a sweeping success.
