Judgment delayed again
hear judgment on his case.
Because of the absence of Magistrate Mrs. Cheryl-Ann Mapp due to illness, Luis Stirling of Cedar Hill had the ruling on his assault case adjourned for a third time yesterday.
Stirling originally faced two counts of assault, stemming from a fight which took place at the Oasis Night Club on April 12. He was found not guilty on the first charge, and has been awaiting judgment on the second count for almost two weeks.
Defence attorney Mr. Robin McMillan told the court that his client needed to have the judgment read as soon as possible, because his repeated absences for court were interfering with his job.
Mr. McMillan said Stirling's employers were becoming upset with the situation, and that his client could lose his employment with the firm.
Acting Magistrate Mr. Wilhelm Bourne said that Mrs. Mapp was planning to return on Monday, and scheduled another -- and hopefully final -- appearance for Stirling on Tuesday.
