Senators approved a plan to sell 327 square metres of land in exchange for 297 square metres owned by Morris White.

Government Sen. Gary Pitman said the exchange was the first of a number of measures to improve safety on Middle Road.

He said the road would be realigned and straightened and a footpath would be put alongside the Frank's Bay stretch.
