Lemay renews appeal

public to come forward with information on Police officers who have been involved in illegal pyramid schemes.

In a release issued this week, Mr. Lemay admitted Police involvement and noted that it has put the entire Service in a bad light.

"The involvement of such officers has brought discredit upon the Bermuda Police Service and has brought into question the credibility of all its members as a result,'' he said.

Stepping up the investigation he launched more than a month ago, Mr. Lemay appealed to the public to come forward with specific information relating to Police participation.

"The investigation team would particularly like to speak to anyone who: has been approached by a Police officer to participate in pyramid schemes; has attended any meeting or presentation in which any such scheme was promoted by a police officer; has paid money to a police officer to participate in any such scheme; or has lost money as a result of investment in any such scheme with a police officer.''
