designed to steer them to the Island's most romantic areas.

The guide, "Bermuda for Two'', highlights 45 spots and is divided into eight categories -- places to picnic, great walks, secluded beaches, photo opportunities, places to enjoy sunsets, places to get married, water view dining and places to "pop the question''.

And marketing Manager Charles Webbe said the "lovers' end-to-end guide'' was a public relations effort primarily directed toward potential visitors from theUS East Coast.

Tourism director Gary Phillips stated: "We recently surveyed Bermuda's frequent visitors and found that over half of them have taken a romance-themed trip to the Island -- whether it be for a romantic getaway, wedding anniversary or honeymoon.'' "Although this wasn't surprising to Bermudians, it did inspire us to create "Bermuda for Two'' to illustrate the Island's romantic side to all of our visitors.'' For the second year in a row, Bermuda has won top awards as a diving destination from a popular diving magazine.

Six thousand readers of Rodale Publishing's Scuba Diving Magazine chose the Island's underwater treasures the best destination for wreck diving for the Caribbean/Atlantic area and best destination for beginners.

And the Island placed in the top ten for three other categories in this region, including number six overall.
