left a 36-year-old Devonshire man in "critical'' condition in the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital's intensive care unit.
The injured man -- who suffered severe head injuries and a suspected broken jaw -- was found lying in a pool of blood outside Fat Man's Cafe on Palmetto Road, Devonshire at about 3 a.m yesterday.
It is understood that he had been beaten with a crowbar which was found lying nearby.
A Police spokesman said a 19-year-old Devonshire man and a 23-year-old Warwick man had been detained.
Last night a hospital spokeswoman said the man's condition was "critical but stable.'' A Police investigation is continuing and witnesses are asked to contact Hamilton CID on 295-0011.
