after Police arrested him with cannabis that he claimed belonged to his sister.

"My sister is going through rehabilitation,'' said 37-year-old Perry Smith of Cottage Hill Road.

Smith pleaded guilty to possession of cannabis and told Magistrate Edward King how he had taken drugs from his sister before and turned them into Police.

On one occasion, he said, he struck a man who was doing drugs with his sister in his car.

He told Mr. King about his battle trying to keep his sister off drugs.

"Don't put it in your wallet,'' said Mr. King, who advised Smith the only things people carry in their wallet are things they intend to keep.

Mr. King told Smith to: "Trash it, burn it, step it into the ground and grid it under your foot -- destroy it.'' whenever he found drugs again.

Smith was fined $200 for possession of 0.33 grams of cannabis.
