He was invited to attend the Global Summit on Peace through Tourism in Amman, Jordan.

Hosted by King Abdullah of Jordan, Mr. Allen said in the House of Assembly on Friday that he took part in two roundtable discussions, and managed to highlight Bermuda's commitment to new investment, training opportunities and eco-tourism.

"My attendance along with other delegates from around the world, ranging from Ministers of Tourism to CEOs of some of the top companies in international tourism, offered Bermuda tourism an excellent opportunity to network with key players on major tourism policy issues,'' he said.

The Minister also attended the World Travel Market in London, along with assistant director marketing Cherie Whitter, communications manager Michael DeCouto and European director Ian Parker. Mr. Allen said he met with Italian tour operators and discussed the feasibility of a Bermuda-Italy charter flight next summer.

"This market has shown steady growth over the years and has considerable future potential. It has been difficult to obtain sufficient seats out of London to grow this market.'' Networking: David Allen
