Hospital will allow both screening and specialised diagnostic studies to be performed.

A hospital spokesperson said the Stenographe 600T Senix HF will operate from Monday to Friday between the hours of 8.30 a.m. and 4.30 p.m.

"As there is a list of over 600 patients waiting for their first mammogram at T.B. Cancer & Health Association, KEMH will be taking these patients first, starting its own appointments this summer,'' said the spokesperson.

"Appointments for specialised diagnostic tests will be booked right from the start of the service as this is the main function of this facility.'' The spokesperson stressed that KEMH technologists are fully qualified and registered in the field of Radiological Technology and will be seeking American Registry qualifications in mammography.
