section of North Shore Road between Barkers Hill roundabout and Dock Hill Road will be closed to traffic today and Monday.

This stretch of road will be off-limits to all drivers except area residents between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. on both days. Access for residents will be via the Dock Hill Road end of North Shore Road.

The closure is required to facilitate the movement of boiler components for the Tynes Bay Incinerator, which are presently stored along North Shore Road.

Works and Engineering said in a statement it encouraged full cooperation from the motoring public, and apologised for any inconvenience the closure might cause.
