Outerbridge resigns as NLP chairman
National Liberal Party.
It is believed the former Smith's South candidate will run for the NLP again at the next general election.
New chairman is the party's economic spokesman, businessman Mr. Geoff Parker, who was voted in at the NLP's annual general meeting on Thursday night, which was attended by 50 delegates.
Mr. Parker spearheaded the Budget petition two years ago which led to thousands of Bermudians protesting against Government spending.
Elected as deputy chairman is ZBM's operations manager Mr. Delano Ingham, a former winner of the Outstanding Young Person of the Year Award. He replaces Mr. Albert Swan.
And the party's new public relations officer is Ms Deborah Saltus, hotel executive and first Vice President of the Netball Association.
She replaces NLP candidate Ms Cheryl Pooley, the new party secretary.
Other people elected, or re-elected, following the meeting at the Peace Lutheran Church, Paget, are: Ms Cheryl Eve, treasurer; exempt company worker Ms Gloria Jean Trott, assistant secretary; and architectural designer Mr.
Andrew Outerbridge, assistant public relations officer.
The elected three members at large are Mrs. Viola Rogers, Mr. John Soares, and Mr. Neville Sommer.
