This England magazine has selected a painting by Mr. Baxter for its spring issue to commemorate St. George's Day, which takes place today.

St. George is the patron saint of England and Shakespeare, whose birthday follows on Saturday. Mr. Baxter said the painting shows The English Channel as seen from Sussex Downs -- an "idealist's view that would make every Englishman's heart throb''.

Mr. Baxter, a Bermudian, lives near Shelly Bay.
