The report said, "Warning that some media outlets risked losing their licences, Sir John also called for an end to Letters to the Editor signed with pseudonyms, saying that they were unfair.'' Yesterday the Department of Information Services released a transcript of Sir John's speech, accompanied by an audio tape. The Premier's exact words concerning the media were, "But the media is a resource of the country. You are given a licence to do a job that is fair, that is reasonable, that produces a balance.'' Mr. Jensen said that in light of the verbatim report correcting The Royal Gazette 's article on Saturday, his accusation to the effect that, "Dropping a hint in the House of Assembly of taking a media licence, which would put the electronic media out of business, must be construed as a way of trying to bring them into line ...'' must be withdrawn.

Mr. Jensen had been speaking at the Paget Lions Club on Wednesday night.
