this week turned himself in to Police yesterday.

The man, who freed himself from the car and left the driver to be rescued, came forward as a result of Police appeals, Police spokesman Sgt. John Dale said.

The 59-year-old driver from Sandys Parish remains in critical condition in King Edward VII Memorial Hospital. Anyone with information should contact Sgt.

Graham Alderson at 234-1010.

A thief took advantage of the opportunity to steal a chain-saw when it fell literally before his eyes.

Police yesterday said a Department of Agriculture truck was traveling east on South Shore Road, Southampton, at 3.15 p.m. on Wednesday when the chain-saw fell off the back of the truck.

A spokesman said a motorcyclist picked the chain-saw up and rode off in the opposite direction.

Detectives investigating the incident would appreciate assistance and can be contacted at 234-1010.
