Finance Minister the Hon. David Saul announced that the price for gasoline will go down 1.0 cents per litre, diesel is dropping 0.7 cents per litre and kerosene is decreasing by 0.3 cents per litre.

As a consequence the maximum retail prices for petroleum products will be 115.1 cents per litre for gasoline, 86.7 cents per litre for diesel and 66.0 cents per litre for kerosene.

GOVT. SEEKING TO BOOST PARADE GVT Govt. seeking to boost parade Government has already begun meeting with the business community and other interested parties to try to boost the falling numbers of participants in the Bermuda Day parade.

UBP Sen. Yvette Swan made this announcement in response to a series of parliamentary questions from PLP Sen. Neletha Butterfield on Wednesday.

Sen. Swan said that Government had publicised and had made forms available for those wishing to participate.

However meetings are taking place already in preparation for the 1996 Heritage day.

She said it was Government's hope that this will boost the participation of PTAs and schools.

CAR UNLOCKED, HANGBAG SNATCHED CRM Car unlocked, handbag snatched A woman paid the price for leaving her car unlocked -- she returned to find her handbag missing.

The 36-year-old left the car for two-and-a-half hours in Tribe Road 4 in Paget on Tuesday evening.

Police said this was one of ten recent reports of theft they were looking into.

MAN ARRESTED IN LIQUOR THEFT CRM Man arrested in liquor theft A 29-year-old Southampton man was arrested for allegedly stealing liquor and threatening staff at a Hamilton supermarket.

The man was said to have picked up a chair and struck the arresting officer, slightly injuring him.

Police said the man would be appearing at Magistrates' Court.

MAGISTRATE WARNS TRAFFIC OFFENDER CTS Magistrate warns traffic offender Senior Magistrate the Wor. Will Francis on Wednesday warned an 18-year-old repeat traffic offender that his behaviour would lead him to prison.

Festa Vibio Nelson, of George's Bay Lane, Sandys, pleaded guilty to driving on Middle Road in Southampton on June 3 while disqualified.

Mr. Francis fined the Bermuda College student $300 and took him off the road for another year.

He told Nelson, "If you continue with this type of behaviour, you will eventually end up in prison and ruin your hopes of going abroad to college.''
