Pitt, 48, slipped unnoticed from the back of Magistrates' Court on Tuesday morning as he waited to have his case heard before Senior Magistrate Will Francis.

He had been escorted to court by Police after being held in Hamilton Police Station following his arrest on Monday.

Police are appealing for the public's help to find Pitt, of Horseshoe Road, Southampton, and issued a picture in a bid to track him down.

Pitt is described as being light brown skinned, about five feet, nine inches tall, of slim build and wearing a brown sweater, red sweat pants and sandals when he escaped.
