PLP seeks answers to tourism woes
compiled by the Progressive Labour Party.
The ideas were in questionnaires filled by organisations at a recent PLP Tourism Symposium.
Detailed analysis of the responses, including a video tape of the symposium, will be forwarded to the Department of Tourism.
The survey's findings will also be passed on to executives of the organisations who participated.
Shadow Tourism Minister Mr. David Allen MP said the symposium was organised to benefit the entire community. The PLP was "gratified'' with the wide range of participation, he said.
Among those invited to attend were the Bermuda Chamber of Commerce, the St.
George's Division of the Chamber of Commerce, Bermuda Employers Council, and Bermuda Industrial Union.
Also invited were the Bermuda Taxi Operators, Bermuda Hotel Association, Bermuda Public Services Association, and the Bermuda Hotel Sales and Marketing Association.
Mr. Allen said detailed questionnaires on options for aspects for the future of tourism were being tabulated.
"Once this is completed the results will be released to the general public.'' Mr. Allen said the survey could help local organisations with their future programmes and activities.
