A Hamilton Parish woman reported that her bag was stolen from her bike.

Police said the theft happened yesterday afternoon at 2.50 p.m. in Pembroke after the woman parked her bike in the driveway of her home. She was rushing to get her clothes off the line to keep them from getting wet in the approaching rain storm.

When she returned to her bike minutes later her handbag, containing a small amount of cash credit cards and other personal items, had been stolen from the rear of her basket.

Meanwhile in an unrelated incident, a woman reported that she had her handbag stolen from her car yesterday afternoon when she was visiting a friend.

Police said the Hamilton Parish woman left her handbag behind the driver's seat in her car.

When she returned to the vehicle she discovered the handbag gone and called Police. After a search of the area Police found the handbag, minus an undisclosed quantity of cash.

THEFT BUNKERS GOLFERS CRM Theft bunkers golfer A 24-year-old Southampton man also reported that he had items stolen from his bike as he was playing golf yesterday afternoon at the Southampton Princess.

Police said the victim had mistakenly left his Ikus camera and a pair of gold rimmed Giorgio Armani spectacles in his basket.

When he returned to his bike at 5.p.m. he discovered the items had been taken.

CONCERT PLANNED ENT Concert planned Organisers of the Concerts in The Park series are encouraging the public to attend this Sunday's event, featuring "Island Flavours'' entertainment.

The concert, which will begin at 6 p.m. at Victoria Park, will showcase the talent of Legacy, Jahstice, Tropical Islanders Steel & Limbo Show, Reuben McCoy, Ultimate Duo, and Wendell Barrett.

Local comedian Bootsie will be the emcee for the evening.

HOSPITAL FLOODING FIR HOS Hospital flooding Bermuda Fire Service responded to a report of flooding caused by "human error'' at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital yesterday morning.

Six firefighters in one vehicle arrived at the hospital's physiotherapy department to find an area of 50-by-30 feet covered in water.

It was established that a faucet had been left on overnight. Water vacuums and mops were used to remove the water.

LAUNDROMAT FIRE FIR Laundromat fire A fire at a laundromat yesterday required the help of both the St. George and Clearwater fire stations.

Around 3:30 p.m. a total of three fire trucks and nine firefighters were dispatched to the Tic-O-Matic Laundromat in St. George's.

Upon arriving, they discovered a structural fire confined to one of the laundromat's dryer units.

The firefighters shut off the main gas and electric supplies and allowed the clothes inside the dryer to cool.

A faulty thermostat was found to be the cause of the incident and damage was estimated at $160.
