nine months for breaking and entering.

"You sir are a professional house breaker, from which the public needs to be protected,'' Mr. King told Tio Toine Weeks on Friday. Weeks pleaded guilty to breaking into the home of James Eli and stealing jewellery totalling $1,878.

Mr. Eli reported his home had been broken into between 12 p.m. and 10 a.m. in early January.

Weeks used a ladder to climb into an unlocked second storey window. After searching the house Weeks took a box from the bedroom containing jewellery.

When Weeks was arrested, he admitted to the theft and told Police that he had sold the jewellery.

With his help, Police were able to recover $800 worth of the items taken, but the remaining items remain missing.

"What I've done was very foolish, your Honour,'' Weeks said. "I apologise to Mr. Eli and to the court.'' He went on to tell the court that he was under the influence of drugs and alcohol when he committed the crime and that he was now trying to get his act together.

However Magistrate Edward King was unmoved and sentenced Weeks to nine months to be served consecutively to the three months he was already serving.

"You sir, almost went to Supreme Court for sentencing,'' Mr. King said.
