refused a ballot paper, Parliamentary Registrar Lionel Dowling has warned.

A Government spokesperson said: "If a snap election or referendum were called, those who moved without re-registering open themselves to being challenged as voters, on the grounds they are not resident in the constituency in which they are trying to vote.

"Under such circumstances, a returning officer could refuse to give the voter a ballot paper,'' the spokesperson added.

Mr. Dowling said once a household moves to a new location, they must re-register with the Parliamentary Registrar.

Mr. Dowling said a list of those eligible to vote would be published on June 15 and the public announcement was a first step to ensuring people registered, and thus an accurate list would be published.

A Government spokesperson said Mr. Dowling was "moving early to make sure it is as accurate as possible''.
