Magistrates' Court heard yesterday.

Collingwood Robinson, of Rockaway Drive, denied assaulting Beverley Richardson on July 30, 1991, but was found guilty by Magistrate the Wor. Cheryl-Ann Mapp.

Richardson came into the Fish Hut restaurant on Court Street where Robinson was having lunch and there was an exchange of words, the court was told.

Robinson approached the counter and reached over to get something, and "fearing an assault'' Richardson pushed him away. It was alleged that Robinson struck her, causing her to fall to the ground, and then continued to assault her.

The incident had happened shortly after the death of a member of Robinson's family. Mrs. Mapp adjourned the case for a social inquiry report and put him on $500 bail.
