collision with a car in Devonshire.

The cycle rider -- who has not been named by Police -- was injured when his black Suzuki slid on the wet road surface and crashed into the rear of a Mitsibushi car travelling in front of him.

He then bounced off the Mitsibushi and into the path of an oncoming car.

The accident happened around 1 p.m. on Saturday on Middle Road, near the junction with Sousa Estate Road. The cycle rider was taken to hospital and detained for treatment.

In a separate incident, a truck driver escaped injury after his vehicle crashed into a tree on Middle Road, Southampton.

The 23-year-old man, who has not been identified, is believed to have lost control near Barnes' Corner and driven off the road on Saturday afternoon.

A Police spokeswoman said the truck was badly damaged and added the accident is under investigation.
