Opposition (United Bermuda Party) senators Maxwell Burgess and Kim Swan paid tribute to former St. George's Cup Match team member Wellington (Buster) Smith who played between 1944 and 1959.

And UBP Sen. Patricia Gordon Pamplin spoke of fellow sportsman and cyclist Sinclair Packwood.

Mr. Packwood was a long-time member of the Bermuda Bicycle Association, past sprint champion, and two-time winner of the May 24 race.

Mrs. Gordon Pamplin and Independent Sen. Walywn Hughes also made mention of author and political analyst George Rushe.
