St. George's holds corporation vote
Corporation.
Alderman Mr. Ronald Smith, who has served for many years, has been asked to stand down because business trips have kept him away from Bermuda for lengthy periods.
As Alderman, Mr. Smith has been chairman of a number of committees in St.
George's including the vital post the Fire Brigade committee.
Mayor of St. George's, Mr. Harry Hayward said: "Mr. Smith has been away from the Island for a few months. He has missed quite a lot of business.

Miles Outerbridge, on Friday, October 30.
Mr. Outerbridge will accept nominations at the Town Hall from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Deposits of $250 are necessary for every candidate.

Polling Day, in the event of a contest, will be Thursday, November 5.
Mr. Hayward said: "It will be interesting to see who puts their name forward.'' The Corporation is made up of the Mayor, three Aldermen and five town councillors.
