a boy expelled from Saltus Grammar School.

The 14-year-old student was one of two boys expelled following claims of misbehaviour with girls on a school trip to England last month.

The judge made his ruling in a closed-door hearing.

Ms Clare Hatcher, lawyer for the boy and his father, said the judge's ruling concerned "procedural safeguards''.

She added: "The judge has said that a proper hearing should be held as soon as conveniently possible, before a final decision is made.'' The "proper hearing'' would not be public either, she said.

The father, from Pembroke, is suing the school trustees. It is believed he wants his son back in school. He has also complained to the Human Rights Commission.

It is understood four boys were sent home from the tour after an incident involving two girls also from the school.

One allegation was that the boys were caught in girl's bedrooms.
