In a press release on Wednesday, the Broadcasting Commissioners said: "We welcome the continued availability of talk shows, particularly in the lead up to the by-election at the end of the month. This will facilitate frank and open discussion on current events, including politics.'' Last October, just weeks before the General Election, the Broadcasting Commissioners ruled that politics would not be allowed on the talk show agenda during the election campaign.

But that order was later overturned in the Supreme Court by Puisne Judge Norma Wade Miller after lawyer Tim Marshall took the case to a civil court.
