accused of stealing millions of dollars from customers.

But the decision was announced to lawyers behind closed doors, and has not been revealed.

The case of Mr. Arnold Todd, one-time personal banking manager at the Bank of Bermuda, was discussed in open court last month. The bank alleged he used shady loan deals to pocket huge sums of cash.

The bank asked for $6 million of his assets to be frozen, in case he moved it overseas or hid it. Mr. Todd asked for his assets to be completely unfrozen.

The court ruled $3 million must stay frozen.

Mr. Geoffrey Bell, lawyer for the bank, said yesterday's judgement followed applications from both sides relating to the working of the freezing order.

Because the matter was dealt with "in chambers'' - in the judge's private office - he thought it inappropriate to comment.

Mr. John Riihiluoma, lawyer for Mr. Todd, said he could not comment either.
