Bay of Boston. According to the school's director of enrollment management, Sandra Robbins, the college has a long history with Bermuda. "Since 1980, over 35 young women from Bermuda have graduated from Fisher College ,'' she said. The college has a student body of 400, said Ms Robbins, and they come from all over the United States and the world to benefit from the Fisher experience. Fisher faculty is always available to provide assistance and academic counselling to any student. The student/faculty ratio averages 20 to 1. "The proximity of the College to the many points of interest for which Boston is famous, is attractive to students,'' added Ms Robbins. "The classroom buildings and resident halls overlook the Charles River and its beautiful Esplanade. Aside from Fisher's location in Boston's historic Back Bay, it is also centred in the `student capital' of the Northeast. Each September, Boston welcomes 250,000 students into the city. Excellent transportation facilities link the College to the centre of Boston and its surrounding communities. Fisher College is a convenient five miles from Logan International Airport.'' Upon graduating from Fisher College , students have the option of transferring credits toward a Bachelor's degree programme at a four-year college or university, she added. "An increasing number of students are choosing two-year colleges because they can gain marketable skills quickly. Students also benefit from the many internships offered to help them earn credits and gain practical experience in a work setting. Upon graduating from Fisher , a student can enter the job market, taking advantage of our outstanding 98 percent effective placement programme.
