Police yesterday said the collision occurred on Wednesday afternoon when a 26-year-old woman on a bike tried to overtake a truck which was about to turn on to South Sea Avenue in Paget.

The cycle rider suffered a broken leg while her passenger was detained in the Intensive Care Unit of the hospital with a serious neck injury.

A 38-year-old Pembroke man who was driving the truck was not injured. Police inquiries into the accident were continuing.
