Dana A. Rawlins, of Sleepy Hollow Drive, pleaded guilty in Magistrates' Court to having unlawful carnal knowledge of a girl under the age of 16.

Prosecuting, Insp. Peter Duffy said the offence took place between November 1 and 30 last year. The girl visited Rawlins at his home when he was alone.

While watching a movie in Rawlins' bedroom the two began kissing and caressing each other which led to full sexual intercourse.

Insp. Duffy added Rawlins' girlfriend called the girl's father and asked him about his daughter's relationship with Rawlins.

Rawlins was later taken to Hamilton Police Station where he admitted the offence and said he knew she was 15-years-old.

Senior Magistrate the Wor. Will Francis told Rawlins: "This is a very serious matter. One of the elements that strikes me is the age difference.'' Mr. Francis adjourned the case until August 6 for a social inquiry report.

DRUGS CONFERENCE CON Drugs conference Young Bermudians involved in the fight against drugs will soon get chance to meet and learn from others like them.

Fifteen members of Youth to Youth, an organisation of young people who promote drug-free living, will attend the International Youth to Youth Conference in Cincinnati.

The organisation's coordinator, Mrs. Althea Overbey, said the children will learn self-worth and peer development at the annual conference, scheduled for two weeks in August.

"They will learn the facts on drugs and alcohol and come back to promote a drug-free message,'' she said.

Mrs. Overbey thanked the community for its donations, which she said were essential in order to send the youth group to this year's conference. MAN FOUND DEAD OBT A 68-year-old man was found dead in his Pembroke home yesterday. Mr. Karim Animashaun, who was believed to be a Nigerian, was found in his North Shore home at 9 a.m.

Police investigating his death have ruled out foul play.

WORKMAN INJURED AC Workman injured A 23-year-old construction worker was taken to hospital yesterday after falling off scaffolding at the new prison building site.

Police later reported that his injuries were not serious. He was last night being detained at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for observation.

COLLIDED WITH WALL AC Collided with wall A Smith's man who collided with a wall was arrested for refusing to take an alco-analyser test, Police reported yesterday.

The accident occurred about 1.30 a.m. on Cemetery Road in Pembroke and was reported by a member of the public who found the man lying in the road.

A Police spokeswoman said the man was believed to have been driving east along Cemetery Road when the accident happened.

She said he would appear in Magistrates' Court in the next few days.

CANNABIS FINE CTS Cannabis fine A 28-year-old Warwick man was fined $100 in Magistrates' Court yesterday after pleading guilty to possessing cannabis.

Dennis Fairbairn of Lusher Hill was stopped in Hamilton while driving his auxiliary cycle by Police.

Police Insp. Peter Duffy, prosecuting, said Fairbairn invited the Police officer to search him. The officer found a small brown envelope on Fairbairn which was later determined to contain .45 grams of cannabis.

CRICKET PARKING TFC Cricket parking Police have issued a parking reminder to the public to help ease traffic at Saturday's Eastern County Cricket match.

There will be no parking along St. David's Road from the field to Cashew City Road, but limited parking will be available inside the grounds, Police said.

Police have asked the public to obey the signs and follow directions from officers on duty. Additional information can be obtained by calling the Police mobile station on 297-2516.
