Utility pole uprooted
accident in the early hours of yesterday.
But the 35-year-old Hamilton Parish man who was involved in it walked away unscathed.
He was travelling west when his car hit a utility pole on South Shore Road just east of the Paget traffic lights, struck a nearby garden wall and landed in someone's front yard, Police reported.
The accident occurred around 3.30 a.m.
The pole was uprooted and badly damaged, while the car, a blue Subaru, was extensively damaged.
Police said the cause of the accident was still under investigation.
The road was blocked off to traffic until 4 p.m. while repairmen removed the damaged Belco pole and installed a new one.
Traffic was diverted to the White Sands Road railway trail.
