For the St. George's South resident is fuming over Mr. Wall's excavation work next door to his home on Bourne Drive.

And James Wade says no-one seems to want to do anything about the dangerous hole Mr. Wall dug on the property about six years ago.

The excavated hole had three tiers, the deepest being some 30 feet from the level of the road, Mr. Wade estimated. It lay about ten feet from the side of his home, he added.

Mr. Wade told The Royal Gazette : "It's been there for about six years and no-one has even put a fence up during all that time.'' He pointed the finger at former Progressive Labour Party candidate Mr. Walls, who ran unsuccessfully in last year's Paget East by-election, when asked who excavated the hole.

Mr. Wade said Mr. Walls helped dig the hole when he owned the property.

Mr. Walls -- who was last heard to be planning to run for the United Bermuda Party in St. George's South at the upcoming general election confirmed Mr.

Wade's claim.

However Mr. Walls added that he had sold the property and was no longer responsible for it. He said he was unable to reveal who the new owner of the property was.

Mr. Wade said he had to put a fence up between his property and the hole to protect his family but there was nothing along the roadside to stop people from falling in to the hole.

"It is very, very dangerous. One time, two tourists would have ridden their bike into it if I had not been there to stop them. I had to run out and grab the end of their bike to stop them going down the hole.'' Another time, he continued, a man drove down the road at night which is a dead end. "There are no lights out here,'' said Mr. Wade, "so when I turn my house lights off you can't see a thing.

"This man stopped his car at the dead end and backed up to turn around. If I hadn't been outside to shout at him, he would have backed up into the hole.'' Mr. Wade said: "I've had all sorts of people up here to look at it, the Government building inspector, people from the Corporation (of St.George's), and they've told me they would send the owner of the property a letter.

"The last time I spoke to someone was about a year ago and nothing's happened. I want to know what can be done about it.'' The Corporation of St. George's directed inquiries from The Royal Gazette to the Department of Works and Engineering.

A department spokesperson redirected inquiries to the Planning Department but East End building inspector George Morton Sr. could not be reached for comment.
